You have created by far the most bullet-proof business software we have used. Never had a problem, always works, and syncs with QuickBooks seamlessly. As I've told you on the phone, the fact that you guys are a professional software shop and make sure there are no issues and that it performs as it was promised is not going unnoticed. Which is more than I have to say for the previous program that was sold to us we-were-home-renovators-before-we-were-a-software company. From now on, this guy has learned to let home renovators do home renovations, and software companies write software! Thank you for saving me from tearing my hair out. 5 stars. You guys rock. -Wes

[08/05/2009]  6 months after purchasing QXPress, several dispatching features ceased working. I spent 3 days on the phone with technical support. After research, they said that it was my internet server and that they couldn't do anything about it. When I called my internet server and paid money for them to check everything out, they said everything was working properly and there is nothing that should be blocking these features. Overall, the customer service was not a good experience and the product is not working properly.

We went with a different product because we thought they were all the same, and just went with the cheaper one. We returned it and bought QXpress Platinum and instantly see why everyone recommends this product. It is very stable and flexible, and their team is awesome. Very happy with our purchase, and are already saving hours a day in data entry.

[06/03/2009]  We starting using the Enterprise version of QXpress on 8 computers in our office in February. Far exceeded our expectations. Our shop does electrical work in 3 different states, so the ability for us to send work orders to our staff electronically is vital. We have 20 mobile units that sync back to the office. Paperwork has been cut right down, and we don’t have to wait until all the work is in before we can dispatch the next jobs. We can just schedule it on a calendar and when the mobile units sync they get tomorrow’s works automatically. The system is very fast over the network, and their support team has been awesome. We really haven’t needed much service once everything was setup, but we did need some early help with getting the SQL database setup on the network, and get the mobile units synched up. We had a couple issues with getting our router setup to handle the mobile units, but they would call us every day to check in with us, and Igor (sp?) stayed with us until the issue was closed – in other words they were chasing us down, not us chasing them down, which is something I have never gotten in tech support before, so that earned them top marks.

[09/19/2008]  I've been a client for QXpress for 9 months. During this time I've run up hundreds of dollars in support. I've lost confidence in their tech support. Last recommendation was to reformat my hard drive on a new Vista workstation. I figured the solution myself. Their documentation is poor. User interface is not intuitive. They won’t let me discuss my frustration with anyone in upper management. I have to use on online interface. They've stopped responding. I’m stuck debating with my sales rep and tech support.

[05/02/2008]  We were using another online program for our operation program for the last few years but got sick of web always going down, so we looked for a stable desktop app last September. We run a good sized operation with 8 CPUS, 4 on vista, 1 windows 2003 and 3 on XP. After looking we found QXpress in a trade magazine and did a web demonstration with Noel, who was excellent and recommended the QX Enterprise version. Highly recommend doing a demonstration if you are looking at the software, it really cuts through all the features and makes it easy to understand, plus it’s free, plus the demonstration is recorded and emailed to you within 5 minutes of the demo. That impressed us, as the company had their act together. In the beginning we went with Platinum because the features are the same and the price is a lot less than Enterprise. That was a mistake. 8 users are too much for Platinum, which is why I'm giving the performance a 4/5 (even though Noel told us this ahead of time). So we upgraded to Enterprise (as per Noel's orig. recommendation) and it was as fast as promised on the network. Support was really good. We usually get someone live, but sometimes have to leave a message. They call you back but for some reason it always seems like when you are on lunch! We had a problem initially where two computers couldn't connect on Vista machines at the same time. They researched it, and had us apply to Microsoft for a hot fix which solved the problem. That was going over and beyond for me, so we are very happy. Program very easy, and my staff is adapting to it quite well. We are satisfied users and got over the learning curve in about 3 weeks and will be recommending this product to other members of our local association.

Tired of wondering why one crew can make 40% more each day than another crew and not being able to track WHY! Tired of getting chewed out by customers because I forgot to do a job they asked for 2 months ago. Tired of putting up with the Morning Circus, breakfast stops, and crews taking the "long route" to the next customer. Tired of looking for software that ACTUALLY works with QuickBooks the way the sales staff says it will. Tired of having to depend on Tech Support for answers you should be able to find on your own given a proper TechKnowledge Base. Great job QXpress. [05/02/2008]  My company has grown too big for whiteboard scheduling. Yeah, I know it is only mowing, but I don't have time to write and erase all day long. I have tried a few other scheduling programs, only to get upset. I am very satisfied with the scheduling options that are available. Hell, I am satisfied with everything the software does. It probably does way too much, but I bet I'll have room to grow. But the main thing is the software works with QuickBooks, not separate. So at the end of the month, I don't have to do billing in two different software packages. What used to take me two days to do now get done by noon on the first day. That is amazing to me. I could go on and on, but just get the program and see for yourself.

[04/24/2008]  Purchased this software for my Company last year, does a decent job with not too many problems. Recently I purchased a second license for an additional company we have started and I ran into a problem with simple moving of data from the first program to the second. I asked for assistance and was told that I had to pay for support minutes for assistance with an issue that would normally be a basic feature of a software program. Company customer support leaves much to be desired. While you are able to get a support tech normally within 1 day, if you ask to speak with anyone in management, either on the sales side or the support side to express a concern you are told that you may not do so. In my opinion any company that will not let you speak with a management team member leaves much to be desired and while I am now stuck with the software, I would NOT recommend anyone else use it for this reason only. Decide for yourself.

[03/03/2008]  This is a good piece of software that is priced right. We are an electrical contractor and the dispatch board was the primary reason we purchased the software. Many of the other features the program offers we do not use as of yet, but do intend on using in the near future. It is lacking in few features, such as inventory, however I do not believe it was designed for that purpose. It would be a nice feature though. Pretty easy to use and the tech support is as good as expected. Watch out for Vista compatibility, the program will no longer update itself and QX Mobile is not working. They are working on a fix for these issues but they are way behind the curve, given that Vista has been out for some time now. I have confidence the issues will be resolved soon and this should not persuade someone from purchasing the software - just be sure to check with them before you buy to be sure the software will work on your machine.

[12/18/2006]  We have been bowled over with the product since we went live with the Gold version earlier this year. We have since upgraded and have not been disappointed with the product. We perform a mixture of Commercial Landscape maintenance and one-off landscaping projects. It integrates seamlessly with QuickBooks Pro UK version, giving access to real-time changes in core QuickBooks data. It has removed multiple business process issues we have had relating to invoicing and scheduling where our clients have very specific/unique billing and scheduling requirements. We are still discovering how useful some of the more in-depth features are to us. The company is a joy to deal with (even with the time difference) and have been very receptive is dealing with any UK questions or issues.

[08/08/2006]  We chose QXpress after evaluating four or five different solutions for our cleaning company. For such a great price, it does more than programs out there costing many times more. As a new user, every time I think "hey, it would be cool if this software did this," I just dig around and sure enough, it's a standard feature. Plus, with their leasing option, you don't have to worry about a large up-front expenditure -- which proves invaluable when starting a new business. The only complaint about the software is that it sometimes runs a little slow and you may have to attempt a few times (multiple clicks) for it to respond ... it always does respond, but is a little slow.

[07/22/2006]  I bought the Platinum version of this program earlier this year. It has done a decent job but has not lived up to expectations.

Even though originally Qxpress’ website and marketing material included IT consulting as one of the fields this product was designed for (I now can find no reference to IT consulting as a covered field), none of the included forms were designed for my type work. Qxpress would not help in setting up their program with the proper forms (unless I was willing to pay their hourly rate for tech support). This forced me to spend many, many hours designing and modifying my own forms, work orders, and route sheets – something I did not realize I’d be required to do. Even after I made a special appeal based on the fact that none of the pre-made forms and route sheets were designed for a business that they claimed the program was made for, their response was that they were only required to make sure the program was installed and operating over a network. Be prepared that except for the 2 hours of initial installation support – you’re on your own or you pay for tech support.

I really like the fact that it is a very customizable program. This was one of the main features that attracted me to Qxpress. However, I’ve found the customization process to be time-consuming and fairly complicated. I would compare it with designing an Access database, but without a good set of instructions.

Some of the documentation and web-based tech support is very good, but it can also be hard to find, with the online search engine not coming up with obvious search terms. The graphics and screen shots in the downloadable manual are fuzzy and hard to view, with the embedded text almost unreadable.

The ability to email work orders with a few clicks is very good. I just wish the program would remember the email addresses previously typed in. We have to manually type in the email address each time we send a work order – something that is very tedious when we send out 20 work orders a day. The lack of a web-based calendar or ability to synchronize with Outlook calendar is also very limiting.

Also, be careful that even if you buy the program outright instead of renting, their subscription verification is web-based and ongoing, so if their server goes down (or they go out of business) the program stops working. Another “gotcha” is that each version of their program will work with only 2 years versions of QuickBooks – the version of Qxpress I currently own will work with QuickBooks 2005 & 2006. So if I upgrade to QuickBooks 2007, I have to also pay to upgrade Qxpress.

The online reviews are very puzzling, as ALL reviewers have given this software program 4.5 to 5 stars. As hard as I try, I can’t understand how anyone would give this program 5 stars, let alone all 19 reviewers.

[09/12/2005]  We signed up with QXpress for our cleaning company over a year ago. We did a web-based demo with their helpful staff to show how to best use it for our company before we signed up.

I first liked QXpress because I could rent the Gold version for 44 dollars a month until I was sure it was perfect for our cleaning company. Then we purchased and counted rental money into purchase price. Then when got more used to using the template designer so that we could make our own reports and work orders, and upgrade to platinum version counting gold money towards platinum. Therefore VERY FAIR COMPANY, and MAKES SURE IT IS GOOD MATCH before selling and pushing you. I appreciate much after bad experience with other company.

My brother is also a software programmer and he can build a utility with QXpress's SDK so that we could charge fuel with last months fuel charge.

QXpress and their unbelievable staff have helped my business grow from 2 to 5 cleaning teams in one year with no more need for more office help. THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE FOR ME!

[04/01/2004]  We purchased this software for a small pest control business. We needed software that would allow us to schedule multiple technicians with multiple routes! This software did this and much more! We also needed to be able to pull up a customer's information & schedule them for a job. QXpress was able to do this. It wasn't difficult to use!! This product is so much better than other products offered!! Other products tell you it will take one year to convert your customers to their software!! It directly links to your existing QuickBooks customer list, so there is no need to duplicate all of you existing information!! The movie tutorials were extremely useful in helping us to get started. It is quick and easy to learn. The technical support from QXpress is excellent. They answer your questions quickly and solve the problem! I would recommend this software to any pest control or landscaping company!!

Each of the other 3 programs failed either because their accounting wasn't function, or the accounting didn't link properly with QuickBooks. Late 2002 we set out to find a program that (i) could schedule monthly and quarterly services (ii) we could keep the same style invoicing and work orders (iii) and most importanly was totally connected to our QuickBooks. It pulls all your info over for you so there is less setup time.

[12/30/2002]  Our company is a medium sized landscape management provider. When we started our business we realized that controlling time spent on jobs and having accurate information to manage our contracts were critical to our success. We spent close to $3,000.00 on one of QBExpress’s competitors software. We started getting frustrated when this software did not integrate as promised with QuickBooks. We could never get the software to balance with QuickBooks and printing and viewing old invoices was out of the question. We decided to look at other software solutions with the main criteria that the software had to integrate perfectly with QuickBooks. After reviewing a number of demo’s and specifications, we decided to try QBExpress. There was no risk as there is a renting option and a 30 day money back guarantee. Not one of the other companies could offer this. Installing QBExpress and inputting customer jobs was a very simple task thanks to the video tutorials provided with the program. After using the software for 1 week, we were sold. QuickBooks is now always up to date and our financial reports balance all the time. In our area, we have to schedule services for both warm season and cool season turf. This had always been a problem until QBExpress, but now are handled with great ease and accuracy. Another scheduling feature that we use a lot is the “Other Intervals”. This means that we are not restricted to weekly and monthly schedules, but can customize a schedule. For example we can schedule mowing every 14 days from March 15 through July 20, every 7 days from July 21 through September 15, every 14 days from September 16 through October 20 and no mowing until March 14 of the following year. This is a very powerful feature that allows you to customize all your application schedules. Schedules can also be date driven or zone driven. Zone driven schedules allow us to schedule services like lawn care applications by zip code (or any other method). When we are ready to do a certain zip codes lawn applications we simply import that zone and it is automatically placed in the route sheets. Labor costs and material costs are tracked by job with very little effort by the crews. Tasks are set up for each job and appropriate fields are printed on the route sheets for the crew to fill in the start and stop time for each task. Materials are tracked as budgeted and actually used. Costs are automatically calculated. Once the job costs are entered the main screen for that days work tells you the costs and profit margins for each job. Fully customizable reports allow you to accurately track account margins and most importantly losses. Customer service and tech support from Alocet is phenomenal. I have never had any major problems myself with the software, but the small issues I have had, have been resolved within the hour. QBExpress is a very customer orientated company and has huge ears when it comes to suggestions. I have seen many great changes in the upgrades that prove they are listening to our requests. QBExpress offers a top notch software solution to any company in the service industry. All this for a very fair price. Do not let the others fool you!!!!! When I began searching for a software package and contacted them. They were so sure they had the best program out there that they challenged me to check out the competition. They even told me where to look! Now I was still green so I took on the challenge since it was to my benefit. I checked them all out, tested them and downloaded trial versions. I found nothing better then QXpress and QuickBooks! I have had their software for three years now. I always upgrade every year because I don't want to miss out on where QXpress can take my company.

There is NONE better. Don't waste your time or money on other products and broken promises. [08/01/2002]  I've used QuickBooks for 7 years for our lawn and landscape company. I couldn't figure out how to provide for different rates for the same service to our customers. I.E, mowing prices ranged from $25 to $95 per stop. We have at least 10 other individual service categories that all had different prices for each customer. QXpress solves the problem in a magnificent way. The integration with QuickBooks is great particularly a month end when several mouse clicks get the invoices into QuickBooks from which they are already tied to the customers sales and accounts receivable data. Upon opening QXpress, one is led to add/edit all QuickBooks customers... Their add-on for downloading to my Palm really put icing on the cake...Imagine your "route list", including job history and notes for your crew, in your pocket. 20 seconds after completing a job, you just use your stylus to change a jobs status from "On the Route List" to "done" and all of your paperwork is complete. Upon return to the office, you just upload your Palm records of done jobs to your QXpress software and you’re ready to go to reschedule the jobs that weren't done...

[06/13/2002]  I love Qxpress! Before getting Qxpress we tried 2 other "service industry" specific software programs. This program does more for much less money. It's so ease to use that from the time I installed it until I printed route sheets. I stared out just using the routing features, now I track the crews’ time for individual task (how long to mow, how long to trim, etc.). It helped me realize which lawns I was making money on and which ones needed to have a price increase. The program keeps up with over-head and labor cost so you can "micro-manage" jobs. The technical support department is second to none. When you call with an issue they get it fixed, these guys know the program. What more can I say this program has helped so much!

As owner of a lawn care and landscaping company I have unfortunately tried many software packages in the past that either do an excellent job of the scheduling or of the accounting. QXpress integrated with QuickBooks Pro has been the solution to all my problems. QuickBooks is obviously a leader in accounting packages while QXpress has mastered the scheduling problems I have faced in the past. In fact last season I had hired another staff for the office only to send him out in the field on a crew. Quite simply I could organize three or four crews, print invoices and maintain the system in about twenty minutes each morning myself. QXpress improves customer service as specific instructions are printed for each customers jobs, keeping quality high and profits up!

[06/10/2002]  I have been a QuickBooks User since 1997. We own a medium sized lawn care business. When we had about 75 - 100 customers I started looking for a routing program that could help us with our scheduling. The program that I found only had the scheduling program. I had to re-enter customer information invoice information and payment information. Or they had there own accounting system and it tried to duplicate the information of QuickBooks. I looked at many different programs. I choose one because we needed the scheduling ability that we did not have with QuickBooks. I like QuickBooks and could not see abandoning such a quality program. I bought the cheapest of all the programs. I had to re-enter a lot of data. But it did the routing for me. In 2001 I was frustrated in how it was working and began the hunt again. It was then that I discovered that QXpress was in the works. As soon as it was available I requested a demo. Upon loading the software and exporting my customers, I was sold. The software has saved me so much time. Now with scheduling 200 to 250 lawn applications a around I need something that will save me time. Every update has been helpful. The customer service has been there to help and interested in what our company needs for our industry.

[06/08/2002]  Before I found about QXpress I sent about 5 – 6 hours typing up bills in QuickBooks. Now all it takes is about 2 minutes. And everything gets billed, nothing is forgotten, I don’t have to spend time thinking what was done on each customer’s property each month. The route sheets eliminate having to tell each crew what they have to do for the day, its all on paper with detailed instructions, special requests for each customer show up on route sheets so I don’t have to keep reminding the crew members. The job costing is probably the feature that I use the most. I know what I need to make each hour per employee to be profitable and QXpress shows me just that, I know which customers need to have a price increase and which customers need a bigger Poinsettia at Christmas time. Set up time, there is none. It pulls in all the customer information for you, unlike the other products I demoed before QXpress, all you have to do is schedule all your jobs. Also the tutorial videos show you just about everything you need to know, you don’t have to read a manual to get started, it’s like having a personal tutor. The technical support is simply perfect, you need a custom invoice they’ll build it, you find a bug, and they’ll fix it, usually the same day! Paul is dedicated to his product, I remember a time I had a problem with my customer base not importing and he was working on it till about 10 p.m. and fixed it. I don’t think you’ll find anything better out there.

[06/08/2002]  I have been in the lawn and landscape maintenance business for seven years, and used the same program for invoicing. It did the job, but everything had to be entered manually every time that invoices were done. I enjoy the type of work that I do, and even more, enjoy getting paid, but hated to think about scheduling and invoicing customers. This year, I tried out QXpress, and it has been dream come true. The ease and automation of this program is amazing!! I received the program, and installed it. After viewing the demo videos, in very little time I was setting up jobs and contract payments for the whole season. Scheduling one time jobs are a breeze now, and no more little sticky notes cluttering my truck. In very short time, I can go to a certain month, and find out how many special jobs are scheduled and how much I will make from these jobs. The funny thing now is that I enjoy doing invoicing and scheduling, at the end of the month within a couple clicks of the mouse, all jobs are invoiced. At the end of the day, jobs are marked done, postponed, or canceled in a very short amount of time. Another big plus is that it integrates with QuickBooks. The customer support has been excellent. It is second to none. They will go out of their way to help you get answers to problems that you might be having. I have been very pleased with QXpress and would recommend it to anyone. There are purchases that I have made, and looked back wondering why I purchased the product. This has not been the case with QXpress, it is a great program, and is backed by some of the best customer support around. How many times have you heard that a product is the best? Alocet has done a great job with this program.

[06/07/2002]  QXpress solved a very large problem for our landscape construction company. Our maintenance/ customer service division has fortunately had rapid growth in the last 2 years and keeping the schedule and billings straight has been a bit of a nightmare. We tried a competing product that just did not integrate with QuickBooks the way it was sold to. So, after being burned, we carefully sought another solution and found QXpress. Our daily scheduling takes about ten minutes and our month end billings have been reduced to a morning project instead of a couple of days. Once you set everything up (allow a little time depending on your business) it takes little effort to add new work, schedule current work, and accept completed work. The integration with QuickBooks has been just as promised and is just what we needed as we required integration to QuickBooks as purchase criteria. Lastly, for those who want to test the waters, QXpress offers a demo trial as well as a no commitment full version monthly trial (they even apply a portion of the monthly charge to purchase). We are pleased - QXpress has exceeded our expectations.

[06/07/2002]  I have been using Qxpress with QuickBooks Pro for about a year and a half now. Qxpress is wonderful, It has far more features and options than any other program there is. The technical support team is excellent, and always there to quickly answer questions. There are other products that claim they integrate with QuickBooks but fall far short. If you are in the Lawn servicing industry, large or small this program will make you more efficient. It always makes me wonder why know one else has thought of this before. Not only has Alocet thought of it, They have mastered it. Super Application! A+

QXpress - My Savior!!!

[06/07/2002]  My company is in the lawn maintenance business and has been for 13 years. Over the years, I have used a cornucopia of different software packages. Each had its good points, but most were obscured by the bugs and typographical errors throughout the software, not to mention the crashing. Finally I have found software that not only meets my expectations for an industry-specific software package, but easily exceeds them. We are now fully into our season, maintaining over 500 properties every week, and we haven't missed a beat! And QXpress is easy to use! After watching the movie tutorials, I was proficient enough to use the software to get basic information into and out of it. After about 2 weeks, I had it mastered. It really is that easy. And QXpress itself is just the beginning! With QX Mapping, I can print detailed driving instructions and maps for my new employees. With the QX Data Collector for PDAs, my quality control manager can easily take notes on job quality and with a couple of mouse clicks those notes are permanently in the customers' histories. Not only that, but we are planning a completely paperless operation using the PDA software that Alocet has developed to work with QXpress. Their technical support department is quick, efficient, and best of all: effective! Not to say that QXpress doesn't have its quirks, but they are so few and far between that it is hardly bothersome and barely noticable. I would recommend QXpress to anyone and everyone in service-related industries.
