ERPLite Issues
Usefullness
Overall Rating:

[03/11/2008]  We are a small manufacturing company who uses QuickBooks and have just integrated ERPLite. We have just started to integrate the two software products together. ERPLite is not handling the transition well and the tech support has not been able to solve our issues. The Vendors, Items, Customers and Inventory Count does not upload all items into QuickBooks. ERPLite has been unable to resolve this issue.

[10/03/2007]  We are an aircraft parts manufacturing company that needed an MRP solution to help us predict future materials and manpower needs. ERPLite is an MS Access-based, expandable software that brings all the basic functionality of an MRP system to a company that doesn't want to spend a lot of money. We have done considerable customization of the basic front-end software piece, as well as adding back-end fields in a few cases. Generally speaking, such additions and modifications have been straightforward. Support has been generally good and the software developer has made an extra effort to accommodate our specific needs.

[09/28/2007]  We are a small aerospace engineering/manufacturing company without an IT department that is a long time QuickBooks user and is just implementing ERPlite Pro. We needed better mfg reporting and inventory control to complement QuickBooks and ERPlite fit the bill. The software has delivered more that was expected even though we have not fully implemented shop floor control or bar coding. The process has gone well, but requires lots of preparation to get started. The web site provides plenty of information, but we had to scratch around sometimes to find it. The 'Getting Started' section should be read first. The 'Basic Tutorial' contains some outdated info and illustrations that can be misleading. The 'Site Key' system proved irritating during the setup of our workstations due to conflicts with our anti-virus software. Online help has been prompt and helpful, if sometimes cryptic. The on site training was very helpful, but lots of upfront preparation was necessary to make sure the staff got specific training and questions answered that pertained to their jobs. The MS Access based system is very helpful in customizing forms and documents for our system. Wish there was a better way to make the customizations available to all workstations. The overall experience from the implementation process has been very positive and the software is already assisting us as a growing business. I highly recommend it.

Review of ERPLite
Lonnie - Boa
Overall Rating:

[09/26/2007]  Our company has been using ERPLite for 3 1/2 years with great success. The fact that ERPLite is MS Access based has been great for us because we have been able to customize as needed for our growing business. ERPLite support has always been very responsive and helpful to us even with the large amount of customization we have done. This is great software for a small company using QuickBooks that needs more manufacturing functionality.

[09/26/2007]  We have been using ERPLite for about 4 years. We were a small 4 man outfit and have grown to about 40 people. We have done several customizations to make the system work in our unique build to order system. The customizations went smoothly and the system is currently meeting our needs. I like the fact the app is written in MS Access which makes small tweaks on our end easy. Great product for start-up and small companies.

[09/25/2007]  We've used the ERPlite now for 5 yrs and have customized the there front end code extensively for our electronic board manufacturing and repair hub. ERPlite blends its self well to QuickBooks has been put to the task from work orders to purchase orders. We've figured how to make it work for us. The software is pretty straight forward with only a few minor flaws, I think can be fixed. Some tasks can take way too long to calculate, and that “sitekey” thing has got to go. If you need to update your MS Access, OS, Computer, Hard Disk or partition it, etc. You are dead in the water until they provide you a new sitekey. Whether your at 31 days from your demo trial or have been a long time customer.

Good Software - Read Support Carefully

[05/02/2007]  The software works as advertised and has been helpful for managing a small manufacturing operation. We've used the product for approx. 2 years and have only had an issue with the way it converts units of measures, I was told this has been fixed but haven't downloaded the newest version because my support contract ran out. The downside to purchasing this software in my opinion is the fact that you must purchase support in order to move your license to a new computer. I was told that the minimum $299 support license fee is needed to pay the cost of issuing the new sitekey. This cost is very excessive to me. Be careful not to install YOUR software on the wrong computer, you'll have to pay again to move it!

[12/13/2004]  ERPlite gives the impression of being one guy in Canada (Hari) who wrote, maintains, sells and supports the software. The licensing control is worse than Microsoft, if your inventory control computer crashes or is being upgraded you need to get a kill code from ERPlite, email it to Hari, wait and he'll email you the new installation number. The software either from CD or otherwise won't run without the code. This left me somewhat concerned about Hari's vacation schedule and health. He was unwilling to consider a dongle. You can change the forms, somewhat. If you do this then you need to be careful every time you take an update because you have to save them separately, delete the new ERPlite forms and replace them with yours. You do have to periodically run the database cleaner and some bugs require going into the database and changing entries. An unskilled office worker can make a real mess in a hurry. There are idiosyncrasies of the data entry part of the program you learn to work around. It's not real sophisticated, if you buy screws in boxes of 100, and you want to indicate that the product you are currently building needs 6 screws, you end up creating fictitious boxes of 1 screw and hoping who ever is ordering screws doesn't get confused. The data entry lacked certain checks and safeguards that would have been nice to avoid problems from a misplaced keystroke. Response to email help requests was pretty good. This summarizes my experiences from 2002 with ERPlite. It's not a bad program, probably fine for a small job shop.

ERPLite: An Invaluable Asset For Small – Medium Business
acrysler@solowp.com
Overall Rating:

[06/23/2004]  ERPLite is a refreshing reflection of what happens when customer service, performance, and competitive pricing converge. I rarely had to wait (if at all) for an immediate answer to my questions from ERPLite’s friendly customer support team. The software performs well right out of the box and is completely customizable to tailor almost any of your company’s inventory / accounting solutions. ERPLite even worked very hard with us to do automated live posting to our company’s web page, giving us a huge edge on our competition. After doing lots of searching, you’ll find that ERPLite is priced so reasonably that it makes for very reasonable buying decision. If your company is looking for a functional, friendly, and affordable ERP/MRP package, ERPLite is something you can’t afford to pass up.

Seamless Interface to QuickBooks
mark@boatechnology.com
Overall Rating:

[12/03/2003]  We just recently implemented ERPlite and are very pleased. The seamless interface to QuickBooks was a big plus which allowed our conversion process to go smoothly. ERPlite does an excellent job of presenting any errors or issues with data going back and forth which gives you peace of mind on data integrity. For us, the critical additional features we were looking for beyond QuickBooks were multi-location support, handling of partial shipments and receipts, MRP explosion, and custom reporting. ERPlite handles all of this and more extremely well. The MRP module is amazing for the price of this package for requirements planning. In addition, a huge benefit is the fact that they have a policy of open source code. Being based on Microsoft Access, it is then very easy to modify reports or add a field if you really need it for those with a little Access experience.

ERPlite is excellent Inventory Management Software
sapendo@microstrain.com
Overall Rating:

[11/26/2003]  We have been using ERPlite for nearly two years and are very pleased with it. It has features found in much more expensive programs. The ability to easily customize it was a major reason we chose this software. Many more expensive systems are difficult or impossible to tailor to a particular business. The ERPlite staff provides excellent support, including customization help.

[02/06/2003]  I have been a long time user of QuickBooks Pro and their ability to handle manufacturing was a big problem. ERPlite solved this inexpensively and easily for us. The program sends all the financial information to QuickBooks Pro and has the ability to do MRP, BOMs, Sales orders, custom POs, etc.

QuickBooks & ERPlite Make A Great Inventory Tracking Solution
James Chapman
Overall Rating:

[01/23/2003]  After I purchased QuickBooks 2002, I quickly realized that my company required more advanced inventory tracking functionality than QuickBooks could offer. But at the same time, I had been using QuickBooks for three years and did not want to switch to another accounting package. That's when I discovered ERPlite. With one click of the mouse I was able to transfer my items, vendors, and customers into ERPlite. Furthermore, the Excel spreadsheets I used to store my bills of materials were easily imported into ERPlite with the Access table wizards. With little effort ERPlite was up and running. It was easy to install, and the customer support was friendly and responsive. Creating purchase orders and invoices was easy, and with a few more clicks of the mouse they were exported into QuickBooks. Another feature that I found useful was ERPlite’s master production scheduler. It was easy to use and produced effective manufacturing plans for my company. Lastly, ERPlite is open-source, so with basic Access skills we customized ERPlite to our needs, including linking to data in an existing Access database. I definitely recommend ERPlite to anyone looking for an affordable inventory tracking solution that works with QuickBooks.
