[11/11/2009] Compared to other programs with similar features in the same price range, AdvancePro offers a very comprehensive, complete and usable package. The software makes the handling of a large inventory easy, and the tracking and use of raw goods (manufacturing) is unparalleled.
The implementation of AdvancePro was time consuming, and as with any new software, it took some time to get used to it. Some of the features are quirky, but again, just took some time to get used to.
At times, customer service was backed up, and it was frustrating to occasionally have to wait.
Overall my experience with AdvancePro is favorable, and I would recommend the software to anyone that needs a feature rich program.

[11/05/2009] We were looking for a solution for our inventory, warehousing and order fulfillment that fully integrates with our accounting software. AdvancePro fits the bill. It also supports our barcode scanners and mobile warehouse for picking product, in a very efficient way. We evaluated competing software and found the basic functionality of AdvancePro was more streamlined. We are now adding more features with AdvancePro such as the Fed/Ex and UPS modules. We are pretty satisfied with the response times we have received, even being able to speak to system developers on occasion. Overall, AdvancePro increases the accuracy of our order fulfillment and solved many of our inventory and warehousing problems.

I have been in the wholesale/distribution industry for many years and have had numerous solutions which I tried and tested before coming across this software.
I have just recently opened a retail location and this software has given me the ability to control all of my company processes.
The wholesale/distribution side of the business is managed extremely well by basic core product of AdvancePro. It has allowed me to manage all of my buying and selling with multiple pricing tiers for specific customers and customer groups which was a very big advantage. The picking packing and shipping of orders has been made much more efficient with far less errors. The auto sync to Quick Books is a great benefit as all of my invoices and new data get sent to Quick Books as if I manually typed this info. into Quick Books and my accounting team loves this.
When searching for a POS solution I looked at many softwares and couldn’t find anything that would allow me to control both sides of my business. AdvancePro has done a fantastic job of combining this functionality. I am able to control multiple locations and view stock at different stores and even transfer stock from one location to the next. The POS interface is very simple and easy to use and allows for user permissions to be created for basic users and managers to control who is able to do what in the software.
Using a single software to control these separate companies and processes has made life so much easier and more efficient.
I would recommend this software to anyone in a wholesale/retail environment.

[10/26/2009] I have been working with this software for 5 months and I enjoy the user interface and the customizable reporting tool is great! The support has been very responsive and helpful. The ease of use combined with the robust functionality makes working with this software an enjoyable experience. I had tried some other softwares before using this and found that the reporting was "canned" reports which did not offer the flexibility I was looking for and require. This software has shaved hours off of my daily work especially when it comes to reporting and creating reports. I would reccomend this to any person looking for a software to control inventory.

[10/23/2009] We purchased this software based on the recommendation of an inventory specialist. Unfortunately, we were never able to fully test the software as there was a snag with converting our company data from Quickbooks to AdvancePro. Several attempts were made by the Tech Support team to get the software to work for us, however they were the same attempts over and over – none of which worked. After sending email after email recapping the reasons why this software would not work for our company they decided to provide the refund… or so I thought. I was given instructions on 8/5/09 to uninstall the software and let them know when the uninstall was complete. I completed the uninstall on 8/6/09, sent the email and received an RMA number in return. The email with the RMA number asks me to please wait 30 days for my refund. Here we are, 2.5 months later, and I still have no refund nor do I have any idea if it’s being processed. I contacted our initial sales rep and they guided me towards ‘accounting’. I’ve called ‘accounting’ over 20 times and not once has anyone answered the phone. I’ve left several messages and have not received one phone call in return. I’m now getting in touch with anyone who I ever had contact with at Advanceware in order to try and get some assistance with the refund of our money. My suggestion is do not purchase this software based on the 30-day trial period. Only purchase if you know for sure that it will work for your company.

[10/15/2009] Graphical user interface is very deceiving. This is the most expensive beta tester on the market, and some features don't work. I do not recommend the manufacturing module, and I would advise staying away from setting up any complex units of measure. Pricing structure is flawed as the database adheres to percentages based off the cost, basically, you do not have a guarantee that the prices you set will remain the way they are. Your order entry side will have problems if your company (like most) wants to charge different prices to different consumers.
Financial reporting is clearly not designed by accountant. Reports average costs in Quickbooks using an inconsistent method (mode or median, I can't tell yet). Inventory COGS will need to essentially be audited at the end of the month, taking any time you saved on the $10/hour processing side and applying it to the $100/hour CPA. I have been using the software for over 3 months now . I believe this program has potential in the future. Decent for inventory management (doesn't let product leave until it has actually arrived), but terrible at synchronizing QB with accuracy.

We now have a much smoother workflow, from production order to customer order/fulfillment, through to customer invoicing and on to financial reporting, all through AdvancePro. It eliminated 2 different stages of manual entry for us. Our business is apparel, and our seasonal sales activities deal with a wide variety of model types, sizes and colors. AdvancePro was the only software in our price range that contains an Order Matrix, which we find essential for our line of business. The Product Specialists at AdvancePro were excellent at answering any manner of questions we threw at them, too.

Since starting to work with AdvancePro it has been a fantastic experience. The sales staff was very professional and extremely knowledgeable and able to address my needs and act in a consultant capacity to show me exactly what I needed.
The support team is outstanding! I was able to get responses and the assistance I needed in a prompt and very helpful manor. The support team was able to do whatever we asked of them. They are great for answering questions and training, to logging into our system to help with set up and the QuickBooks integration.
The QuickBooks integration works seamlessly. We are now able to have a complete solution with inventory control and a seamless synch into our accounting software. Having this type of functionality has allowed us to optimize our inventory levels. We now have just the right amount of stock on hand without carrying too much of any item and using the reporting tools can give you some great forecasting ability based on past sales trends and sales history.
We have two locations and we have implemented AdvancePro at both locations. Both locations are working together and sharing the system which has allowed for a higher level of communication and understanding between the two locations. The ability to manage multiple locations and control our inventory successfully and have it all integrated seamlessly into our QuickBooks is the solution that I had been looking for and am very happy to have found it in AdvancePro.

[04/08/2009] The system is very reliable. The database is Microsoft SQL and the user interfaces are well designed. The layout and flow of the application is logical and after only a short time, intuitive.
We find it is easy to train employees in this software. Our employees like the easy navigation when looking up information. Customer service utilizes the system while the customer is on the phone making call backs a thing of the past. Our customers love what this software has done for us.
Our work flow utilizes the shipping component fully. AdvancePro integrates beautifully with UPS FedEx and Dazzle. Tracking numbers are stored with the invoice and order info. Shipping information feeds into UPS and FEX automatically.
An email is sent to the client from our system when the order is placed. The pick ticket is generated in the fulfillment area. The order is picked and shipped. When the order is shipped an email from UPS is sent to the client advising that they now have the order and it’s on the way. It also gives the client the ups tracking number. This has cut our customer phone calls by half. No more “when am I going to get my order” calls.
The pick tickets are easy to read. Training time for pickers is down and accuracy is up.
Since we have totally implemented the system our correct fill rate is 97.35%.
We have grown from 0-1.7 million in sales in just 8 months. Utilizing AdvancePro we have been able to grow without glitches in service. Most orders ship the next day.
We utilize the import functions to bring in internet orders from our website. This drastically reduces our order input time.
Our sales reps now input their own orders from the web services functionality. This also allows them to check delivery status, inventory and commissions without tying up customer service. The web services within AdvancePro are fully integrated with the main application and the updates are done in real time.
AdvancePro enables us to be efficient. We have processed orders, picked, packed, shipped and invoiced more than 340,000 products in 8 months with 5 people.
The Integration into QuickBooks is truly seamless and has simplified our entire company processes.
I would highly recommend this system to anyone looking to manage inventory and order processes and streamline all of this information in conjunction with QuickBooks.

[04/07/2009] As a new user I was charged for one year Tech support....Not uncommon....What is uncommon is not getting a call back from tech support for 2 to 3 weeks and in some cases never. As a new user it was critical to get tech support early while we worked the "kinks" out. Most of the time we had to track sales down in order to get tech support to call us back. Over all great product and great value, but you have to have tech support also.

Before the end of the guarantee period, I found the software won’t fit our needs. I requested a refund but the sales representative kept postponing the refund and asking us to give them a chance to improve. I did give them chances for a few times but the software still has a lot of problems. It has been more than a month and we haven't gotten our money back. He keeps saying that the money will be refund but we haven't seen any RMA email coming in. Now, he doesn't reply my emails and phone calls at all.

[01/04/2009] Purchasing AdvanceWare has been a nightmare. We spent some time on the phone with the salesman going over our needs -- he assured us it would meet certain needs we had.
After purchasing and trying to implement the software, we found that it was incompatible with our workflow. We tried to take advantage of the 30-Day Money back Guarantee and were UNSUCCESSFUL. They promised a refund, but after 5 weeks we were charged again (no refund). We have left several messages with the company, emailed several times and have received NO RESPONSE. We had to file a complaint with American Express to get the charges removed.
And today, we were charged AGAIN for the software. We are going to have to file another claim with AMEX and get a replacement card so that this company will no longer have our card number.

Whatever you have in place to praise your people this is one you should give double praise. [09/17/2008] Our business is very unique. We have approximately 300 independent contractors in the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. We have multiple warehouses in each country. We ship to each rep and use Advance Pro to maintain the proper inventories in the respective warehouses. Our inventory loss used to be 8-12%, but with Advance PRO it’s at 1%. The support people have been fantastic from the beginning. From the point of install to today support has been there with us and answered any and all questions in a timely fashion. The application is user friendly and offers robust features that can accommodate most any business model especially ours. I am VERY happy to be working with AdvanceWare and if you are looking for an inventory software solution I HIGHLY recommend and endorse AdvancePro.

I was finding it easy to find software that worked in the US but nothing seemed to integrate with my QuickBooks in Canada, luckily AdvancePro, was able to pull all my files and customer info from my Canadian account and they even use Canadian currency and taxes to properly bill my clients. Anyways I thought I would share since I know many Canadians have a hard time finding software that integrates internationally.

We call the 1-800 number and customer service never picks up and we can never leave a message. [08/19/2008] We run our IT System for our business in a terminal server application and Advance Pro indicated that their system will run in this type of application. We even have it in writing not just verbal. We purchased the software at a "special" price as we were not yet ready to install the software on our system. When our IT person installed the system a couple of weeks after we purchased it, the flaws started to show in the software. We tried to import the inventory and customer information from the Excel files they provided us with and found we could not import all of the information as the software is specific for the US market and they do not have an application for the Canadian market. We then tried to import the information from our QuickBooks software and continued to have application errors in the transfer of information. After 6 weeks of trying to get this software working properly for our business we asked Advance Pro for a refund and were told we are past the 30 days. It took us longer than 30 days to try and get the software to work and was unable to get the software to run correctly so we dumped the software. Advance Pro did not live up to our expectations for a warehouse/inventory software running under a terminal server application. Be careful what you buy or "Doc Brown will take your Delorian back in Time!" as this is one of the error messages you will get and you will be locked out of the system. They are not willing to provide us with a refund and I would not recommend this software for any one running a Terminal Server application in the Canadian market. Even their support team did not know how to help us on some of the tickets that we used and some calls were over 3 hours in length. If you want to spend some money for an inventory system, I recommend you stay away from Advance Pro until they have a Canadian Version that works. We were sold a bill of goods from their sales person that did not work for us. We asked for a refund of the software only and that they can keep the Support Package cost but all they can say is it is past the 30 days since we purchased. We spent over 60 days trying to make it work, over 40 hours of our IT & Accounting time and this is all we get. Again, we do not recommend this software in a "secure" terminal server application. We needed to track serial numbers for our outgoing orders; we also needed to use sku #’s, and serial codes, which this software was able to do. The installation was fast and didn’t take long to learn which was nice, and now we’ve had a great relationship with the company’s tech support team. The software works like QuickBooks, and updates our information so easy; with just one button click we can send our invoices and bills directly from AdvancePro. I recommend this product to colleagues of mine, and is definitely worth using, this product’s features were not only better but more reasonably priced than the competition.

We need to track serial numbers which this does very well on both incoming and outgoing orders. The best part for us though is being able to click one button to send our invoices and bills directly to QuickBooks. AdvancePro has extended QuickBooks shelf life for us and keeps my staff happy as we don't need to retrain people on a new accounting program-and their software is very easy to learn because it looks and feels like QuickBooks too! [09/27/2006] We purchased this software thinking it would take care of everything we needed in a software for manufacturing, we were dead wrong!!!
Customer service is horrible, I have had 2 tickets open since July and here it is September, and they have no responses to them.
They tell me the new patches will fix my problems, and then the new patches fix the old problems, but cause new problems, then they again tell me the next patch will fix that problem.
Don't take a chance, we have moved on to QuickBooks Enterprise.

[07/26/2006] We're an importer in Canada and have been using AdvancePro for over a year now. We highly recommend you try this if you buy and sell goods. We love the Freight module and the way it controls our taxes. It gives us a true reflection of our landed costs. The software is user friendly and the consistent updates are great too. These guys have a built a software that has grown with us and as we add more users it still performs well on our network.

[07/10/2006] AdvancePro is an excellent product with many great features. I've been a QuickBooks user for years and finally found something that compliments QuickBooks. This tracks my inventory in multiple locations. The matrix inventory grids work very well for us, as does the serial tracking features. The fact that we can send shipments directly to FedEx and UPS is a big plus too. I am also pleased to say the staff has been very professional, from sales through to support. If you're looking for a great inventory management software then AdvancePro definitely it.

[06/30/2006] I tried AdvancePro 3 years ago and it did not suit my needs so I returned it. I have now come back as there is no other software that compares with it. I rebought it about 2 weeks ago and have been nothing but impressed. Feature set is detailed and powerful while still keeping everything simple to use. Staff is friendly and helpful. Look no further.

[06/23/2006] Be careful if this package is not for you. Their 30 day no hassle 100% refund guarantee has not been honored for me. I purchased a copy of this for a client, they felt it was too complex for their needs. We sent it back within the 30 day refund period. I and a co-worker have over 2 dozen calls in the past 3 months. Most calls were not returned. Promise for credit was given on at least 3 dates. Each time the date came around they set a new date. After 2 months we received a partial credit. We are still waiting on a call back regarding the $599 shortage on the credit.
I can't tell you if the product is good or bad, just that they have not honored their guarantee in a professional manner.

[05/03/2006] We have been using QuickBooks with a combination of excel spreadsheets. Too many inaccuracies were happening with our inventory and then we found AdvancePro. As a 3PL it is critical that we have accurate inventory to service our customer’s needs and AdvancePro does this and more. We can track each customer through the multiple warehouse locations, and can easily manage our warehouse layout internally with the multiple picking locations feature. Overall the software is stable, the customer service is responsive and we're very happy not having to worry about software and concentrating on running our business. I'd recommend this software in a heart beat.

[04/26/2006] AdvancePro was the 3rd inventory/order program we tried to use and finally find what we were looking for. There are no complicated and long processes. It can handle very complex issues such as pricing options and UOM options but makes it simple to learn use. Its many icons and colours give you quick views of what is going on so you don’t need to waste time searching for a status or order details. I highly recommend this product. By far, the simplest and best out there.

[03/28/2006] Our technology consulting firm was hired to assist a multi-million dollar distributor with 10,000 product offerings improve their warehouse management and streamline operations. They have a very complicated business model and the success of the business depends on quick and accurate turnaround of orders. After comparing the top ranked inventory management tools we chose AdvancePro. Here’s our experience:
Pros:
+ feature packed: allows for custom pricing per customer (and custom part number per customer too), custom vender part number, handles product variants (same product in various sizes, colors, etc.), multiple warehouses, interfaces with UPS/Fedex (add-on module), creates e-paper trail of who changed or acted on the order, creates pick lists, and allows for barcode scanning in warehouse (and even order entry).
+ the sales people are quite helpful and have been available after the sale to help answer questions
+ the technical support is effective and I feel that they make an effort to help solve our problems
+ for ‘normal’ orders this tool greatly reduces the time from order to shipping
+ having multiple UOM for a product is nice (though manual breaking of cases, for example, is not as smooth as we would like)
Cons:
-The integration with QuickBooks is not as tight as we would like: it is not true that changes in one tool will be updated in the other. There are probably good reasons for but it is unclear what really is synchronized and what isn’t. The export of product list from QuickBooks to AP was easy though we had our products in a hierarchy in QuickBooks and the hierarchy was lost in the importing to AdvancePro(AP). Also, updating QuickBooks is a manual process from within AP and since we have to wait to ‘finalize’ an order (see below) our accounting (AR/AP) person actually spends much time in AdvancePro when our hopes were that all accounting could be done from QuickBooks alone. All of the ordering, product updating, and most of the reporting has to be done from within AP, not in QuickBooks.
-the reporting in AP is lousy. The reports are not customizable (though improvements are expected in mid-2006) and the standard reports are not very good. We would have liked to use QuickBooks for the reporting but because not all of the information is exported from AP back into QuickBooks (such as sales orders for example) the reporting within QuickBooks is crippled due to lack of data.
-the business logic is too strict in AP. For example ‘once shipped the item quantity is not editable on the order’ seems reasonable until you mistype or send the wrong quantity and then recovering is painful due to this strict business logic in the software (and additionally fixing it usually leaves an ugly paper trail and effects meaningful reporting, etc). We have chosen to leave orders un-finalized long after they are complete just in case we have to change something when the bill comes in or when the customer receives the products. QuickBooks has understood the need to pretty much leave anything changeable at any time, AP has not. AP has plans to fix some of this in mid-2006 but they have a ways to go to match the flexibility of QuickBooks in this respect.
-the windows don’t refresh the forms as expected. So for example, adding a part or modifying customer info doesn’t automatically update the order window that I am currently using, I must either refresh or close/reopen the window.
-the setup of the 2ndary warehouse(s) is painful. You must first add part to your primary warehouse then perform a transfer. If you ship exactly the same products out of all your warehouses this won’t be a problem. We don’t.
-the exporting of info into excel spreadsheets is useful but when you open the spreadsheet you notice that there is an extra row inserted between each row of data. Also there is weird header formatting and weird ‘merging’ of columns. If you know excel well you can fairly easily get rid of these (most of which you must do in order to re-import spreadsheet changes back into AP).
All said, we are happy with the overall performance though we are hoping the soon-coming improvements will soothe some of our problems especially with respect to billing. It is clearly not a ‘mature’ tool but we believe it is the best in its price category and they seem committed to making it better. We are clearly pushing the limits as our business does not follow ideal business models but I believe that we would have had to spend 3-4 times as money much for a better tool. We highly recommend using this tool.

No software program is perfect, I will be the 1st to tell you that...But, you wont go wrong with AdvancePro..it is constantly evolving from customer input and improves every month. [02/22/2006] Please save yourself time, headache and money. This product lacks even the basic features and suffers greatly to provide any advance reports. Sadly it cannot even track Inventory or import/export to QuickBooks property. How can I run three separate inventory reports and get three different numbers all within minuets of each other? Don’t count on this product or their service contracts to get your business to where it needs to be. Save some time, choose another product.

This software has really helped us streamline our apparel distribution business with their matrix inventory and variant manager. Was very easy to learn too. When I bought AdvancePro 15 months ago, I had a 1 user version. I now have a 10 user version with ALL modules and the B2B and Sales Rep Web Services module. It was such a pleasure sticking with 1 software package that had all the tools available for me to grow....When I started my business 15 months ago, it was just me. I now have 15 employees and 75 sales reps over the country and all is centralized and organized....My suggestions are always considered for future releases and I will be a customer of AdvancePro for many years to come.....Thank You AdvancePro !! [10/22/2004] The software is good, but not applicable to my application. We need to track items for a large number of items, and print lot numbers for each invoice. This software cannot handle large number of items in such cases. For eg. if you had an order of 5000 units of your product, coming from the same lot, this software will print 5000 lines of individual item info !!! Reports generated from this software are not customizable and are of mediocre quality. You cannot print your company name and logo on Purchase Orders and other reports !! Customer service responded with "Why would you want it!??!" Promised to deliver requested features in 1 week (to close the sale), but this did not happen for 2 months. I finally ended up returning the product out of frustration with dealing with false promises. There is not enough documentation to help you out !
Overall, if you are a user with a limited number of items to work with, this MAY work for you.

More importantly my staff was enthusiastic about how this would change the way they worked and that was a key concern. Within 10 minutes they were processing orders without any help - amazing!

I have read the 2 negative reviews and must say that I am quite surprised. Either they were written a very long time ago or the product/company are not the same..
I have been using AdvancePro since its inception and I have seen it go through monthly improvements. Every month a new patch is released which has many new features and functionality. These are all given free of charge to existing customers. It is now a fully complete application and is the only application we need (we don’t need any others)
I would leave my contact details so you could contact me as AdvancePro is a wonderful product that is backed up with dedicated support but Intuit will not allow this. I urge you to start using AdvancePro. You will not be sorry.

[03/02/2004] I first tired this software in May 2003 and was pretty impressed when I got it. I have been receiving updates from these guys often and have to say that I am over the moon. New features like viewing cutomer order history when you create a new order are exceptional. Their serial and lot # tracking is also a powerful new one. I am also very satisfied with their support department. They have gone the extra mile to accomodate me and my staff and have been very patient with all of us. I highly recommend AdvancePro.

Its QuickBooks import and export feature is wonderful and so are the easily understood icons that change automatically to reflect the changes in your stock. AdvancePro 2003 has a slick interface that is very similar to QuickBooks so the switch was easy for my staff. I gladly recommend this product-the Help Menu is helpful, the product is quick and easy to use and their support staff has been very helpful.

This is without a doubt the future of how to manage a virtual sales office with an unlimited number of salesmen, vendors, and products. AdvancePro offers us real-time access and status to current inventories, purchase orders, vendor orders, and all related databases. You can have 50 sales people spread throughout the country, selling 1000 different products to 10,000 different customers, from 20 different warehouses and see it all instantly in real-time. It incorporates a "Kit Making" module that is only seen in high end manufacturing software generally costing $20,000 or more. With Kit Making, I can buy different items and put them together and sell it as one product and let AdvancePro automatically manage the inventory and costing for me seamlessly. Additionally, I can choose the "drop ship" option to send items from suppliers directly. Or I can fill orders from specific warehouses on the fly as I choose. The B2B side of the software allows my customers to see only the products they are interested in, with customized pricing capabilities. I had tried other products on the market but none could provide me with a complete view of my business. AdvancePro is the only product that gives a complete picture, from sales; to ordering to shipping I can monitor everything from wherever I am.
One of the best features for me is that all aspects of my business synchronize with my accounting. I don’t have to waste time sending QuickBooks files to my Accountant, everything is updated automatically between AdvancePro and QuickBooks. This has saved me time and allowed me to cut my overhead sizably.
AdvancePro has really simplified my entire business. Not having to update multiple software packages and constantly deal with different companies has been a pleasure, I have one system and one company to deal with, it’s only a pity I did not find AdvancePro sooner!"
