Ability's Integrated Scale software is an add-on that provides the capability of reading weights from the scale directly into the receipt using the standard receipt screen of QuickBooks Point of Sale software (it does not integrate with the limited screen facilities of simple view.)
The software Also enables Point Of Sale to read standard format random weight bar codes, printed by most printing scales. Placing the correct item on the receipt and at the correct price for that individual package. Quantity can also be set correctly on the receipt if the user desires.
When an item is selected that is indicated as a weighed item the input from the scale is put into the quantity field automatically.
There are various methods that can be selected for tagging items as weighed items. The method is configurable within the Integrated Scale software. Indicators that can be used include.
· The use of a key word or any ASCII character within an item name, item description, attribute, or size fields.
· Designating a particular unit of measure for use with weighed items.
· Using an available user field with QuickBooks Point of Sale Pro or Multi Store.
The software is supplied either as a licensed add-on, or a licensed software/hardware bundle.
The scale chosen for integration with the Integrated scale program are models from the popular Avery Berkel 6700 series scales from Salter Brecknell (previously sold and distributed as Weightronix) And the CAS PD-II.
