Salespeople just connect through the internet and login to the system and start working without having to worry whether they have the latest update. [04/20/2010]  The Common Market is a wholesale consolidator, marketer and distributor of food produced in the Philadelphia region. Our goal is both to support local agriculture and to make local food affordable and accessible on the wholesale level. We serve the area's finest retailers, restaurants and institutions. Our customers want to know where their food comes from so we make extensive use of VictualNet's 'brand' feature, so that the farm that each product originated from prints right on the invoice. We used to have to do that manually or else skip that information. We're also using the picking labels option in VictualNet. It makes our lives easier and our customers lives easier. They're not trying to check against an invoice during a delivery, every product has their name on it. This makes it easier on the drivers and on the customers. Even though the invoice is now cleaner than it was before. When we were using QuickBooks alone we had crazy amounts in the quantity sold and pricing trying to put pounds into the quantity on some products or cases in for others. It was a mess. VictualNet's invoice displays the catch weights and quantities properly, making the invoice much easier for everyone to understand. It's cool that VictualNet is web based. It keeps our costs down, which is important because excess profit goes toward bringing farm fresh foods to areas that don't normally have access to it. We were looking for a system that could do it all. While VictualNet can't do 'everything' yet what it does is amazing, and it's only going to get better as our business grows.

[04/09/2010]  We saw an immediate increase in accuracy at time of order entry. Our salespeople can see order history for the customer, inventory information about how much is available, and always up-to-date pricing information. We've also eliminated wasted time where we'd have to go back to the salesperson because of an illegible pick ticket. Speed and efficiency increased immediately, and we're still seeing time savings as our employees become more familiar with the system. Many of the employees took to it immediately, it was simple to use and works just like the websites they're familiar with. Even the folks who 'don't use computers' learned to use VictualNet quickly. VictualNet is a web-based Software-as-a-Service so I was able to jump on the opportunity to improve my business quickly. I could move on it so fast because there was no hardware I needed to buy or big investment I needed to make up front. I've mostly been dealing with Rebecca and she has been great. She's always able to respond to my questions and even when she has to do some research first she does it quickly and calls me back promptly. Even when there were hiccups the response time was incredible. It's really helped out with the pricing, now as we receive inventory the profitability and pricing can be quickly updated based on the new costs. This allows me to remain competitive in one of the hardest markets in the country. We're probably going to add a few more computers; we've got four people sharing three computers right now. With VictualNet I don't have to pay or worry when adding more users. Because it has unlimited users and it's designed to work the way we work, I can just drop one in and know they're doing the right thing.

[02/09/2010]  We have been using VictualNet for about five months to handle order entry and inventory management and QuickBooks to handle the accounting. VictualNet allows us to handle food inventory items (with multiple units of measure and catch weights) which we wouldn't be able to do with QuickBooks alone. The on-screen order guide and order history information have made taking customer orders faster and more efficient. Setting and checking prices for customers is easy with the price-key system. There is no more flipping back and forth between invoices to check pricing. What the customer is expected to pay and what they paid historically are right there on screen.
