New To Tax Prep Overall Rating:
[11/16/2009] I'm relatively new to professional tax prep software, so I don't have much in terms of frame of reference. But it's nice to have something that runs on a Mac. I found this tool to be incredibly easy to use 90% of the time, and incredibly difficult the remaining 10%, with nothing in between. Much of the difficulty was finding an input field. There are a number of convenience features I'd like to see but understand that this is just a beta version of a brand new application. I gave "value" 5 stars based on the beta being free. I hope the full version pricing reflects the elegantly simple interface, a modest pay-per-return option would be great.

[11/10/2009] It's hard to believe that Intuit, maker of the great QuickBooks, is trying to sell this online version. I hope this BETA version is not what the final version looks like. It's awful. I guess those surveys are a waste of time. The idea of an online version is intriguing, but this attempt (BETA) has failed miserably.

[10/28/2009] Need a little repair here and there, I myself get lost in the system. If you can make it the same with ProSeries data entry, it will be the best option.

[10/26/2009] I have been a QBPro Advisor for more than 10 yrs (QB user since DOS 1.0). I have been a ProSeries (Desktop) Professional user for several yrs. I find this to be a somewhat amateurish attempt to create a cloud computing environment. When you compare this to what CCH or CS Tax has, this is very poorly put together and not well thought out. Maybe because this is a beta, they are holding back some features and tools, but overall, not a very user-friendly or intuitive environment; not what I'd expect from Intuit. Sorry I couldn't rate this better. I really want to. I will probably just stick with the network version of the desktop edition of ProSeries, even though I would love for a web-based, true SaaS service from Intuit.

[09/16/2009] Very nice, easy to use and pretty fast. I realistically expected this program to be cluttered with a whole lot of stuff. Its simplicity and power has impressed me.

[09/12/2009] I have tested package with just one return but found the package fairly difficult to use (i.e. not real user friendly or intuitive). There do not appear to be a great deal of tax resources behind the product that I have been able to find. The features are very limited in that it does not appear to have a Client Status feature, Document Manager feature, Scheduler, Tax Planner, Client Write-up or other features you might expect with a tax preparation package. I do like the fact that the system is web based and without the need to install and update software on local computer. Naturally, the drawback of a web based system is the lack of access if your internet connection is down or if you are on the road and do not have internet access. Not sure as to pricing so gave "Value" the average rating of the other categories I was able to evaluate.

[09/07/2009] Found it a bit frustrating. In trying to open a previous test return, I could not do it. I thought it should be as simple as clicking on the return, but no. Then a few days later I created another test return, pressed the save button, but it did not save, another simple operation that did not work. I do find that this product would be great, the idea of being able to work on a tax return from any location and computer without downloading any program! I will continue testing. I really want this program to work, it would make tax season so much easier!! Since I am not sure what the fee will be can’t comment on the value.

[09/04/2009] This ProLine Tax Online is a good simple application. Most everything works relatively easy. My biggest complaint is not being able to delete a Tax Return and/or a client.
Reduce costs and get more customers with web-based apps that work together. Get 24/7 access to your data. Free trials and apps.
