FAQ's
How do I share content with friends or colleagues?
In order to share content with specific people, just click on the menu for a file or folder that you want to share, and select the "Send to connections" option from the menu. From there you will be able to select from your list of contacts people whom you want to share your folders and files.
What are collaborated folders?
Collaborated folders are folders for which you invited others to have special access rights, or for which you were invited for special access. Collaborators may have either viewing privileges, in which case they can see and download any of the content from within their own Box account, or have editing privileges, allowing for multiple individuals to work with the same content together.
What is the difference between collaborating and sharing?
When sharing content, a user is provided a link to view and download the items that are shared. Collaboration involves more advanced interactions around folders. Users will not only be able to view the content, but will be able to organize content within their own Box accounts. Moreover, collaborators may be provided with editing rights.
Note that collaborators must have Box.net Files installed. If you just want to share a file, you may do so without requiring that the viewer have the Box.n
