The application was designed to simplify the client-billing process by eliminating the need to introduce data manually into QuickBooks. It’s the ideal solution when your company stores billing information such as worked or non-billable hours in an XML file (or in a database/web application that supports XML export).

Dyve Hours will transfer the data found in the XML file into QuickBooks with a simple click. Your effort is reduced to minimum, while errors and typos are excluded. Finally, your client will be satisfied by your prompt answer.

In a nutshell, why using Dyve Hours?

1. The billing process is automated.

When billing the clients for the worked hours, you don’t have to enter in QuickBooks all the data manually. Dyve Hours will do this automatically: it will import the data from the XML file(s) into QuickBooks and will create invoices and credit memos with the imported information.

2. The plug-in will create invoices and credit memos in QuickBooks.

Your XML file may contain not only information about worked hours but also about non-billable hours (the hours that will not be charged to the customer). Thus, the application will create two forms in QuickBooks: an invoice for the worked hours and a credit memo for the non-billable hours.

3. Templates for QuickBooks invoices and credit memos.

Besides the installation kit, the Dyve Hours.exe will also contain two templates for both Invoice and Credit Memo. These templates suit your needs and importing them is an easy-to-perform step.

4. The Customer message is automated.

The plug-in allows you to select the message that will appear on the invoice or credit memo; thus, you do not have to select the customer message each time when you send an invoice or credit memo.

How it works:

Before running the plug-in, there are two operations that need to be performed:

  • Import the two templates for Invoice and Credit Memo that you receive with the installation package


  • Select the billing item as well as the customer messages that will appear on the Invoice or Credit Memo


  • The import process is very simple: access a sub-menu in QuickBooks and then select the XML file(s) you want to import. Next, the data from the XML file will be transferred into QuickBooks; thus, following the import, both the Invoice and the Credit Memo will contain information about the client name, the description of the client, PO Number, class, date range, worked hours (for the Invoice) or non-billable hours (for the Credit Memo).

    Additionally, the successfully imported XML files will be transferred in a folder named ImportXMLFiles which is created in the same place where the XML file is located. Thus, you will be able to keep track of all the XML files that have been imported into QuickBooks.
