Works as far as it goes but incomplete

[06/09/2008] This simple piece of software works reasonably well. There is one major shortcoming - it will not allocate entries automatically to appropriate bank accounts. This means if you download transactions for several accounts you are left in chaos with the need to both reconcile many payments and allocate accounts. The tragedy is this information is contained in every line of the ofx file. Installation is haphazard especially with Vista and requires you to be in Explorer protected mode.
This said, the product has no competition and given this functionality it would rate 5*.

[11/17/2007] This is pretty slick software -- easy to use and very stable and consistent, which is a must for an accounting software utility. My BofA downloads include all kinds of additional data besides the vendor name, and using this utility it is a breeze to match incoming vendor names to existing vendor names.
The one thing I really, really wish this program would do better is the following: When creating a new alias, you need to select the "Payee/Customer" and the "Account" manually. It would be really nice if the program would look up the account associated with the selected Payee/Customer and fill it in as an automatic suggestion. As it is, I now have to jump over to QuickBooks, look up the account associated with the "aliased" Payee/Customer and then select it in the ezAccount import screen. A minor hassle, since a payee is almost always associated with the same account.

[08/01/2007] eZ Account Import was a huge help for getting caught up with long overdue data entry. Zachary Systems’ support was very strong – the developer even included one of my suggestions in the latest 2.0 release. Though QuickBooks native importation sort of worked with QBO files, eZ Account Import allowed far greater ease of use and flexibility with .QBO and .QFX. files. I came up with a good workflow that involved scanning old statements (at 600 dpi with good contrast) via OmniPage 15 then bringing the data into Excel for date format and positive/negative adjustments as necessary. Did the same with more recent statements in PDF format via ScanSoft’s PDF converter. Within Excel I exported the reformatted data with Big Red Consulting’s QIF to Excel to OFX Converter to convert the reformatted data into an OFX file for import by eZ Account Import. This workflow saved a LOT of time (vs. typing in older statements manually). eZ Account Import and eZ Credit Card import worked like a charm for bringing the data into QuickBooks. Both eZ programs allow for great ease of use and efficiency in the area of creating aliases and controlling matching (of incoming data vs. already entered data.) My workflow and data entry catch-up would not have been possible without Zachary System’s eZ Account and eZ Credit Card input programs.

[07/24/2007] This software is just what i was looking for. Do not have much time to input data into QuickBooks, but I do not need it any more! I just download the file from my bank account on-line and import it into QuickBooks. Over all it takes about 1- to 20 minutes if you have your aliases set up. The software does the work for you no second guessing where accounts go. Great job love the software!!!

One of those MUST HAVE utilities for UK Quickbooks users.

[02/26/2007] Having found out how useful the Bank Account import was in QuickBooks, particularly the matching of existing transactions, and highlighting of missing entries, I found that the UK version is not supported by most of the UK Banks. They all have free online Banking and Statement downloads available in a variety of formats including OFX and QIF, but there was no alternative to the online download in QuickBooks to do the same job.
Having found EZ Credit Card import available from ZacharySystems.com, I downloaded a trial version only to find it was for the QuickBooks US version, but having contacted the supplier, they not only created a UK version with a VAT option, but they also supplied a UK version called EZ Account Import for Bank accounts.
The support, help and grasp of the problems was excellent, despite our communication having to be via email due to the time difference, and the final UK product is already saving me hours of work. Bank and Credit card reconciliation is no longer the chore it used to be, and almost a pleasure, even Paypal statements can be imported so the two utilities combined cover all my needs.
I would highly recommend any UK users of QuickBooks to run a trial with it, I know you will buy it.
