Projector is a hosted professional services automation solution designed for consulting companies. It includes resource scheduling and management, billing review, invoicing, time and expense entry, project management, extensive analytical reporting, project dashboards, and web services integration with other systems. It also serves as a multi-company, multi-currency project accounting subledger that integrates seamlessly with Quickbooks and other accounting systems.
Web time and expense entry is easy and fast. Scheduled projects appear automatically, and recurring projects can be saved to a list of favorites. Time can be reported at the task level. Comments can be associated (even required on a project basis) for each time card. These comments can optionally be included on invoices, and can be edited in the billing review process.
Time and expense management supports a configurable approval workflow (including optional automatic approval of time for organizations that review time during invoicing). Optional missing time alerts remind employees to submit time and let managers know which employees are missing time. Managers can also investigate missing time using online tools.
The invoicing process starts with gathering time and expense cards into invoices, using a fast, automated approach. Time and expense cards can be adjusted, and a configurable workflow enables project management and financial management approval -- including special handling of adjustments that exceed certain thresholds. Projector’s integrated Billing Contract Management features ensure clients are invoiced properly for time and materials, fixed price, or not to exceed contracts.
Resources can be scheduled based on availability, title, skills, location, and cost center. Scheduling is by day or by week. A fast graphical tool allows managers to see who might be available for a new project and to balance supply and demand across the entire staff.
Projector also provides a project management module that helps managers plan and execute projects on time and under budget. Detailed task management features allow project managers to create hierarchical task plans with dependencies and assign those tasks to resources. Team members can then see what tasks they are assigned to, log time to those tasks, and provide feedback on task completion and remaining hours. Projector then aggregates this feedback into easily understood visual representations of project performance to schedule, to budget, and based on earned value. Finally, Projector's project management module provides a set of project workspaces that allow project teams, project managers, and clients to access critical documents, issues, and other information to ensure the successful completion of the project.
Historical time and expenses can be combined with projected scheduling data to allow comparison of performance to budget and measurement of other Key Performance Indicators. Users can take advantage of an interactive Project Dashboard to view performance at a glance or perform waterline analysis and also be kept informed via performance alert e-mails.
Both historical and projected data can be combined into Projector's analytical reports, delivered in Excel pivot tables. These pivot tables allow for powerful and intuitive ad-hoc analysis on data even when no longer connected to the internet.
