[11/28/2008] Just purchased the Prostore from eBay for the package that cost 24.99 a month. I was told that all of my eBay listings would be transferred to my web site from eBay and synced periodically. Well, that is not true. ONLY 250 listings from eBay are transferred and you are asked to do the rest manually. I have 3500 listings, all scattered to 30 categories, you have to assign each list a category (shoes, each size, man, women etc) calculated, would take me months to complete them all. Technical service is another challenge. So, be careful.

[11/24/2007] After doing my due diligence on the Prostores website, contacting customer service several times to answer questions about QuickBooks integration and feeling comfortable, I signed up. After six months of trying to put a round peg in a square hole, I feel that Prostores should not be recommended on the QuickBooks website at all. It is a low budget, misleading and very restrictive ecommerce solution for anyone. If you have many items of different colors, or styles etc… You cannot display them to make an intuitive customer experience. You cannot upload 1000 products and make them active at once. You have to make each individual product active from its entry page. You cannot load one jpeg or thumbnail for many of the same items during the data entry process. You have to load the pictures for each individual product from the product entry page. There are so many things you cannot do with data entry, than you can with data entry. Tech support just would say, “The software was not designed that way”. The CSV spreadsheet just won’t do it either. The data sync feature will only pull the SKU/item number. No other data is populated. If you want to display one item that has different sizes or colors, you have to list them as attributes under one item number. Then the sync cannot differentiate between different SKU’s or individual items. So, what you end up with is either the website displaying fourteen of the same product or your inventory will always be incorrect. If you want your customers to have an “eBay” experience in your web store, then this is for you! It you want a professional web store that provides a rich customer experience and is totally integrated with QuickBooks and POS then Prostores is a waste of time and money.
