[09/22/2009]  Shipgear has saved our company tremendous amounts of time. Before, we would have to manually enter the shipping amounts into our invoices. Now with the simple click of a button the amounts are auto imported and they are accurate. Also, importing the addresses to World Ship greatly reduced the amount of errors that come with manual entry. I would highly recommend Shipgear.

[10/14/2004]  I liked the interface on this one MUCH better than another product listed- but the application interface is very slow. Our shipping clerks can almost complete the fields manually in the amount of time it takes to pull the information from QuickBooks. Also, I didn't like that you had to save the QuickBooks invoice first before the application could export the information. This added an additional step, I’m not sure the program is worth the cost, but a great idea. Maybe they will improve the technology for the next release!

[07/27/2004]  This is the best shipping integration program there is. I just wish they could integrate FedEx shipping as well. This program works inside UPS WorldShip. Just type in the invoice number and all your shipping info is quickly filled in - and it will handle International shipping information as well as multiple package information. This company has created the most user friendly program that integrates UPS with QuickBooks. Fast and easy - just like it should be. They also have a program that works with another accounting solution that imports both UPS and FedEx. But, we really like using QuickBooks so; we have to wait until they come out with a program to integrate FedEx with QuickBooks. Their technical help tell me some time next year.

ShipGear - A Wonderful Time Saver

[04/26/2003]  We are shipping more packages by UPS than ever before. We needed to find a way to fill in our label information in a more efficient way without having to re-type the same information that we had just keyed into our QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions system. After reading other reviews, we downloaded the demo version. I had a few problems having to do with the fact that UPS WorldShip had just upgraded their software and ShipGear was playing catch-up. However, their support staff was able to help me. Even though it costs more to buy the software if you have Enterprise than it would for the more common versions of QuickBooks, I found that I could never go back to not having this wonderful tool, so I bought it with no hesitation. It saves time and it cuts down on address input errors due to typos. It pulls our customer receipt information right over into WorldShip. After printing the UPS label, we can then automatically paste the Tracker# back onto the customer receipt so we don’t have to go through paperwork to look it up if a customer calls asking for their information. ShipGear allows customization for input into many of the UPS WorldShip fields, such as the message going to your customer in the email notification, invoice#, Sale#, email address if available, etc. On very busy days, we do UPS labels from two different computers simultaneously and it works great. ShipGear is multi-user friendly. One computer is a little slower at retrieving the information, but that is due to the fact that the QuickBooks database resides on the other computer. The bottom line is that I highly recommend this ShipGear software.

[12/01/2002]  If you ship via UPS this is a must have program. I downloaded the trial version and 5 minutes later I bought the full program. The program is affordable and easy to use. The interface could not be simpler. The only thing that I didn't like about the program was the Charge Per Incident support after the first support Incident. The good thing is I don't ever seeing myself having to use their support system but it would be nice if they offered free email support.

[11/20/2002]  As a small business owner, I am always looking for ways to save time or simplify tasks. The ShipGear program for QuickBooks makes UPS shipping a breeze and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to eliminate duplicate data entry and add some helpful features as well. I originally tried the software because it promised to eliminate having to enter customer shipping information in different places (QuickBooks, UPS World ship, etc.). It does this very well (making it well worth the price of the software). Once the customer info is entered in QuickBooks, the ShipGear program automatically populates the UPS program by simply entering (in our case) the invoice number. Besides being quicker, I noticed the added bonus of not having made any shipping-related mistakes since we started using ShipGear. ShipGear also has some nice, usable features and is easily customizable. I use the feature that automatically emails the customer the shipping and tracking information (so they don't have to call you to track their orders). You can also link (or unlink) the QuickBooks fields (such as customer number, purchase order, or product description) with the UPS shipping fields. For example, I have many customers that require their PO number on the package, so I link the "P. O. Number" in QuickBooks to print on the shipping label. You can also choose to enter a "fixed value" (such as "Safety Data Enclosed") instead of using a QuickBooks field. The product was easy to install and use. I had one question which was completely answered by the tech support guy (with very little time "on hold"). My factory manager and part-time office help also do UPS shipping and I have not heard of any trouble regarding this product, so I assume they find it easy to use as well.
