Network Solutions & QB POS

[09/01/2009] I am a QuickBooks ProAdvisor & have been using QB POS since its inception many years ago. I also have been using Network Solutions web site builders for years. You would think with all this experience that I could get these two programs to work together in an easy & simple way for my clients to use! Unfortunately, that was not the case.

[09/09/2008] I was a few days into using them and came to find out after speaking with customer service that they can only handle 5,000 products through their web connector. So if you want the integration with POS and you have more than 5,000 items stay away from them as the web connector will just keep generating errors and will not even upload one product let alone download orders placed on the site.
Also FYI, I was on hold for 50 minutes before tech support picked up the phone.

[08/28/2008] Network Solutions have some of the friendliest tech support personnel in the business. However, their sense of urgency is dismal when it comes to diagnosing or fixing problems related to the integration between their eCommerce product and QuickBooks POS. Their support ticket system for keeping track of customer issues must be broken because we have to repeat the problem to each tech that answers the phone. It's been over three weeks since the problem was reported and the issue is still unresolved.

[04/22/2008] I have invested countless hours during the past month with tech support (for NS, QB & Merchant Services),keyed in all of my products, plus sprung for the Pro package ($999) and had my site custom designed ($1300) - the site looks beautiful. It is too bad I can't synch it up with QuickBooks Enterprise without either duplicating my entire inventory or having an image displayed for ea size (the product variation feature is not fine tuned). There also issues with the Web Connector. So if I can't export my orders, that means I can't use the Intuit Merchant Solutions online feature - I'll have to enter it all manually in QuickBooks. This was the main reason I made the investment - trusting the Gold Certification. Very frustrating and disappointing since the rest of the features are great - Hopefully this will save someone else some time.

[03/30/2008] I was excited about using Network Solutions because their carts are very nice. However the POS integration did not work at all. I gave them a month and a half before canceling, calling tech support once a week. The products wouldn't even upload to the store. The developers didn't resolve the issue at all. Also, they say they support POS, but all their documentation is just for QuickBooks. I was pretty disappointed. I hope they get this integration working in the future.

[03/28/2008] I purchased Network Solutions because it has the feature to upload inventory from QuickBooks. When I use this feature, it pops up a window that reports the upload was successful. Support tells me this feature was disabled years ago because of incompatibility with QuickBooks. The feature will not be fixed until the summer of 2008.
To have this fake upload inventory button is nothing but deceitful. Network Solutions also can not import orders with an card expiration date greater than 2009. Again not to be fixed in fixed until the summer of 2008.

[03/24/2008] Network Solutions shopping cart is great for setting up a store and items. It is user friendly and looks good. The challenges come with integrating with QuickBooks Point of Sale with product variations. The integration product is still in development and not working the way you would expect. I would wait until they get the integration tool figured out with true integration. If you are not in need of the point of sale integration their shopping cart is great.
