Successful Project with Outstanding Results

[05/14/2009]  This product allowed me to seamlessly integrate a custom Access-based order tracking system, detailed cash flow forecasting model in Excel and QuickBooks, using VB/ADO code examples provided on QODBC website. It was not difficult to learn or use, fast, accurate and industrial-strength. Support was responsive and thorough. Their optimizer creates ultra-fast queries and I am able to insert, for example, several thousand inventory items in minutes, each with verification; far superior to anything that can be done with IIF imports. The project was a home run success and QODBC performed as advertised.

[05/02/2009]  We have been using QODBC for 3 years now and really could not work without it at this point. We had a bit of initial installation issues because we use run on Citrix servers. Citrix is not officially supported, but for us it runs just fine. Customer service is both personable and professional. If you need to get your QuickBooks information into a standardized database, we recommend it.

The Missing Link I Needed
Brandon

[02/17/2009]  I was looking for a product that would help me save time on weekly reports I generate from QuickBooks into Excel and then modify and calculate on, thank goodness for the Marketplace. I found just the missing piece I needed with QODBC! This is a really cool product if you want to see your live QuickBooks data in Excel and stop having to recreate those spreadsheets every time you run some custom reports. I used to spend at least 2-3 hours each week creating the same reports, now I just hit refresh in Excel and voila.. I have the data I need. This product paid for itself the first month I used it. If you need a little hand holding by the phone on using it, forget it, they only do phone support for installation issues. With a little searching on their website I was able to find what I needed, they do have extensive documentation on the QuickBooks data and a technical forum you can search or post to. Very cool product!

Just what was needed

[02/03/2009]  QODBC allowed us to dynamically link QuickBooks donations to our Access DB for the charities donors. Much quicker than exporting to Excel, then importing. We setup quickly and used it accurately without needing technical skills besides Access. Bit slow but that may be QuickBooks. Found documentation on web site full and clear - can now transfer to another computer.

The missing link
Josh

[03/22/2008]  This product has been the missing link that allows us to truly customize QuickBooks to fit our needs. We use the driver to access order data and create bar-coded labels, custom production reports and have several other projects pending. It has eliminated loads of data entry and human error factors. I will be honest, it is a bit slower than we'd like but I think that is because of the limits in QuickBooks/security features and table structures. Overall, I highly recommend it and the guys at FLEXquarters have been a great help during development.

Drivers are a mixed bag

[07/20/2007]  Unless you are a good programmer, don't even consider this product. The documentation is poor and the product support is even worse. You are basically given the drivers and told good luck. Many of the features do not work with the online version. This includes all reports and several key tables. The drivers also limit the amount of data you can download at one time. Adding transactions to a specific division is not possible.

[05/15/2007]  They lock the license to your computer. Drive crash and you're out of luck, you can't reinstall. Try to get them to answer your email or phone you back, Good luck. Maybe Intuit will write their own ODBC driver and give these yahoo's the boot. On a higher note, the product does work as advertised, but is slow. I think that is an underlying problem with the QuickBooks file structure and not the driver. Try a large update and you'll have plenty of time to go out for a Starbucks.

[10/20/2006]  After researching many products, this has been the absolute best one I've found!! I've been programming for over 20 years and using QuickBooks for over 10. I used to export to Excel and Access and design the reports I needed. I've now been able to develop a complete interface to QuickBooks for one of my companies that has greatly streamlined the business processes. I was able to take one 10 hour manual process down to one button click and 30 seconds of run time in Access. This is the missing piece that anyone developing in QuickBooks must have.

Absolutely Perfect; A Much Needed Solution

[08/17/2006]  Here was my dilemma. I imported 300 customers from Access to QuickBooks. I turned everything over to my bookkeeping firm and they created 50 invoices in one day (I was a little behind from the conversion). Upon reviewing the invoices, we noticed that the Bill To and Ship To fields of the invoice do not include the Customer name. Furthermore, if you go to the Layout Designer of Template Customization, you cannot even add a Customer name data field. I found QODBC in a Google search and here is what I did with the Read/Write version. I linked my Access Database to the Customer and Invoice tables of my QuickBooks file. Sure enough, I found "hidden" fields related to Bill Addresses and Ship Addresses for both the Customer and Invoice tables. I ran the appropriate update queries to put names and addresses where they'll show up properly on invoices. Then, in a total of 20 minutes from purchase to implementation to "data fix", I was DONE. QODBC allowed me to fix 300 customers and 50 invoices in less than 10 minutes! This task would have taken hours of valuable time to fix a sore QuickBooks problem. Thank you QODBC!

[05/13/2004]  We were going to completely bag QuickBooks 2003 and go w/Microsoft Small Business until an employee pointed us to the QODBC.com website. The main problem was determining our production runs based on 3 different systems. This $199 program simply rocks and is completely easy to use! We have setup a complete small scale MRP system within a week that would have cost us thousands elsewhere. Best plug-in within the marketplace, hands down.

[12/24/2003]  I used to export QuickBooks reports - data to Excel and import it to Access which will requires me to spend a significant amount of time to extract the information I needed on a daily basis. Not anymore! QODBC is just great. I highly recommend QODBC if you are using Access or any other software that use SQL. Thanks to QODBC, I was able to reuse my Access application. Their support….. is superb too.

Access Errors

[11/19/2003]  If you want to import QuickBooks data into access reports I highly advise the following: Import your data and if you are importing data from invoices which have memo type descriptions look carefully to be sure all of the data is accurate. When importing I found that the data in certain fields was incorrect and was missing sentences. Besides this the application was easy to setup.

[10/01/2003]  Those of you familiar with an ODBC interface will be familiar with this program. QODBC gives you direct access to the QuickBooks database, so that you can directly import/export data, make reports, do practically whatever you want. If you are tired of the limitations of QuickBooks check out the free trial of this program. Definitely worth a look!
