[04/05/2002]  Many contractors use QuickBooks Pro and Office, but seldom use either one to full potential. Buildworks was developed by Jim Erwin, a working contractor for use in his own successful building business, and Jim Silverman, a CPA who is well-versed in the needs of the residential contractor. Buildworks provides dozens of enhancements, templates, forms, and reports that would require man-years of effort for a contractor to create from scratch, or to pay for someone else to create. The latest version, BuildWorks 2.x takes advantage of QuickBooks Pro integration, and allows contact information to flow between the various programs without re-typing. It's a solid, common-sense solution for young companies trying to get their systems set-up properly the first time. And, it's an excellent solution for established firms who need to extend the capabilities of QuickBooks Pro and Office. There are many situations where BuildWorks can delay or even eliminate the need to migrate accounting systems to "enterprise" software, saving builders/remodelers untold cost, re-training, and disruption. If you're a builder or remodeler using QuickBooks and Office, you need BuildWorks to nail it all together. If you're not already accounting with Quickbooks, BuildWorks adds the tools to make it residential construction-ready.
