Sharing Data With QuickBooks
Data that is scanned from a barcode is instantly transferred into your QuickBooks data field. If you wish to translate the barcode (i.e. scan a barcode that represents the value 12345, but insert code ABCDE that matches an item code in your item list) the barcode value is stored in a user- defined custom field within QuickBooks. When the custom field is populated with data, SmartScan is able to relate that barcode value to the appropriate QuickBooks item.
